Many Steps Towards Feeling Better

What are the steps?

Talking to Kathy & John starts the process of treatment. Many people suffer major and minor aches and pains that can readily be treated with Massage and Reiki. While some people have quite a lot of experience with these forms of healing and regularly schedule massage, others may be trying out this health approach for the first time.

If you are considering getting a massage but feel intimidated in any way, it helps to remember that others have walked these steps of healing. Find a healthy lifestyle and support it in as many ways you can - try out massage and Reiki and other similar types of body work to see if they fit into your approach for health.

Once you have decided to try a massage, it helps to "make room around it", so to speak. Plan a little extra time to get to the massage; Let yourself get a good night's sleep before going, if possible. Allow yourself fewer responsiblities for the rest of the day following a massage - just to let the relaxation and well-being linger.

If you typically work during part of the evening or are a caretaker, parent, etc., see if you can find a way to structure some "down time" after a massage. You might want to let yourself continue to relax to quiet music on a favorite cd, or to walk and sit in nature, or to hang out with a best friend or pet.

You may find a whole other side of yourself, one that is more at ease and accepting, coming forward after such good self-care.
