What are Tibetan Bowls?

tibetanbowls

Tibetan Bowls are struck like bells to generate a very specific group of tones used for healing. Typically they are hundreds of years old, and composed of of seven metals: gold, silver, mercury, copper, iron, tin, and lead. The iron is derived from meteorites.

At the start of a massage, John places the largest bowl (approx 12" across) on a persons solar plexus, and puts the other bowls near the feet. He strikes the rim of the bowls to begin the tones and can hear subtle changes in the sound as the patient's body relaxes and lets go.

In some cases where a person is carrying a lot of stress, the ringing tone fades out quickly - the solar plexus actually prevents the vibration from continuing.

However, after a period of massage and repeated sound treatments, the duration of the tones extends again, indictating release and flow.

A refined and special energy of the Tibetan Bowls reaches deep levels of our being and provides a "vibration direction" supportive of healing.

It has been said that the tones from the bowls resonate with the "Water Element" in us - and to the skilled ear the tones and overtones are very useful tools for sensing what areas of the body need release, alignment and healing.
