Theraputic Massage
What is massage, what should I expect?Theraputic Massage - consists of many complimentary approaches to physical treatment. John and Kathy have studied many different types of massage - this is actually a typical and intelligent approch taken by serious massage professionals. It helps to know more than one way to release muscles, to re-align muscle groups, and to lengthen and ease contracted areas. Heat, herbs, and music: To experience a hot-towel face-wrap along with Chamomile tea compresses as a preface to a massage greatly aids in the "letting-go". Artfully chosen music presents quiet, gentle themes to mentally focus on while being given a massage Hot Stones: If you haven't tried this I can only say: "Do!". If you have had Hot Stone massage, there's no need to explain! The same is true for the Chamomile Tea /Hot Towell compress... Reflexology: John uses several reflexology sequences that have been known to "bring on a nap". If you wake up 10 minutes after John started working on your feet, you'll know that this has happened to you too. Strength and gentleness: These are two qualities that work very well together to help a good massage therapist "work" firmly into the "knots and bunches" that our muscles can hold onto. Both John and Kathy keep themselves in top condition as part of their "practice" and "awareness". Duration: You can specify how long of a massage you want. Many clients find the optimal time to be an hour and a half, allowing for a complete session. Please be sure to discuss your priorities for the massage when schedule it and also just before you start. You might feel that your shoulders need special attention, or your lower back may be in need of some good release, or perhaps your quads are tight from climbing or running. Just let John or Kathy know so they can give special attention to areas that especially need it. You'll be glad to feel better as a result of their gentle and experienced care.
